Firearm record (filled example)
One record per firearm, with everything an insurer, a police report or future you will ask for: the serial, where it came from, what's mounted on it, how many rounds it has, and what's been done to it.
- Fill one record per firearm. Print double-sided: details on the front, round count and maintenance on the back.
- Copy the serial exactly as stamped, letters and dashes included, and check it against your receipt.
- Log optics and lights with their own serials. They're often stolen with the gun and cost more to replace than people expect.
- When the round count fills up, start a new back page and carry the total forward.
- This sheet lists serial numbers. Keep it locked up and store a copy off-site with your insurance papers.
Everything on the example is made up: serials, names, phone numbers and lots are placeholders.
